A Walk On The Wild Side: South of the Thames

St. Pauls Cathedral!

The tower Bridge!

This walk had so much to see! It was so exciting. It started on tower hill when we walked to the tower bridge! So beautiful and so breathtaking...this castle full of so much history just right in the middle of the city! The tower is gorgeous, as is the view of the river. We then crossed to city hall and then through Hay's galleria. We then had a few of Southwark Cathedral....very pretty...as are all the many other cathedrals we have visited. The Thomas Cure memorial was rather disturbing. Shakespeare's Globe then pops out unexpectedly and Is so fun to see. The Millenial bridge is so fun to walk across...makes me feel like I'm flying over it on my broom with Harry Potter! And the view of St. Pauls Cathedral from Millenial bridge is truly a sight to see. The Tate Modern is so inviting, I can't wait to go in and see what is living in there!! We walked passed the National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Royal Festival Hall. This walk was so full of fun sights and information I haven't even made a dent. I would like to call this the "Bridge Walk". I love walking across The Millenial Bridge and looking across the Thames to see all of the other bridges. I love how different and unique they are from one another. London is just such a beautiful city with so much to offer! I can't wait to get out and go see more!

Little Venice!!

St. Marys church was so pretty!!1
Lunch on the floating cafe anyone?

The Canal of Little Venice and all the riverboats....what a life!

The cute streets of gorgeous houses and way nice cars!!!

Our walk through little venice was enchanting! If I could live in London, regardless of cost, I think I would choose a darling house in Little Venice! We walked through the calm, quiet streets in awe of the rows of white, victorian homes and the streets filled with extremely nice cars. We walked along the canal, lined with beautiful riverboats. What I would have given to just take a nice little boat ride! We saw Omnibus service....the first transportation service in London! We got to see St. Mary's Church! We strolled passed what was Number 19 Warwick Crescent, the Home of THE Robert Browning! Whoever knew London was hiding this little secret all this time?!

Kensington Gardens!!!

Our lovely walk of Kensington Gardens began on Embassy Road where we saw many different Embassys, including the French Embassy(Picture). These houses were amazing! I can't even imagine what they look like on the inside! We then came across Kensington Palace with its ornate gates and the statue of William III. We walked passed Queen Victoria and passed the lovely Round Pond. We walked into the sunken Gardens, which were amazing! Artists were dotted along the walk with their sketch pads each capturing the beauty of the gardens. We then went to the Prince Albert Memorial. Despite his wishes, this memorial is very grand! We then took a walk through the flower walks which was so lovely! I am definitely going back to just sit on a bench in there and read a book. It was so peaceful and just beautiful! We saw the infamous long water of serpentine, where the death of Mrs. Shelley took place. Then on a happier note we ran into Peter Pan! His statue radiated the child like fantasy of neverland. We then went to the beautiful Italian fountains which were fabulous! We walked past the pet cemetary....Britts have a deep love and compassion for their pets.....some of the headstones were quite humorous. We ended the walk with my favorite part of the whole park. The peter pan play ground!! It is a memorial to Princess Diana because she loves children. The park is a fantasy land equipped with Pirate ship, tree house, and indian tepee tents to make every childs wish come true! I have fallen in love with Kensington Gardens and everything around it! The palace looks enchanted, the grounds are majestic, the people are happy and cheerful, and the atmosphere is pure bliss!
